Guardianship

  • Guardianship is a legal process where a court appoints a responsible adult to make decisions for another person who cannot do so themselves. This may be:

    • An adult with a disability or medical condition, or

    • A minor whose parents are unable to care for them.

Guardianship gives the guardian legal authority to make decisions about health, safety, education, housing, and sometimes finances.

  • Our program is designed for families and individuals who meet income eligibility (200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or below).
